If you’re in Delhi this weekend then you are one lucky person. If you’re not in Delhi for the weekend then you should run down here because Delhi is the place to be this weekend.
Delhi is hosting India Art Summit 2011 on this weekend, featuring hundreds of artists, 84 galleries exhibiting everything from sculptures, paintings, prints, multimedia artwork and some of it which can’t be categorized. And if that wasn’t enough, you have brilliant discussions going on round the clock.
The other event not to be missed is Anish Kapoor’s Delhi Mumbai Exhibit in National Gallery Of Modern Art / NAGMA. The exhibit deals with his experiments with Pigments, polished stainless steel surfaces and self generating wax sculptures. You can relate to it in the very first look but then as its absorbed by the mind, it challenges the very idea of space, perception and the meager existence of mankind. A must visit for not only artists, but engineers and scientists too.
And if you want to get away on the weekend then there is the Jaipur LIT 2011. Tarun Tejpal, Ruskin Bond, Gulzar Saab, Javed Akhtar, Tishani Doshi, Dayanita Singh and JK Rowling are just to name a few authors who would be there. If you love reading then you can’t afford to miss this.
